Lillian is 28 years old and the mother of two children. Both Lillian and her husband Mawerere Fred are farmers. It is through farming that they are able to earn an income to raise their family.

Lillian has a certificate in hair dressing which she was doing in order to earn an additional income but has now concentrated on farming.
 
Among the crops grown in their garden are maize, sweet potatoes, beans, groundnuts, and cassava. Maize and beans are sold through middlemen and the rest is kept for home consumption.

Lillian and her family were able to construct a small house through the proceeds of her hair dressing business and farming. The family now feels relieved because they are no longer renting.
