40 year old Nabirye Scovia is married to Igadila Ben. They have 10 children - 6 girls and 4 boys. 

The family relies on subsistence farming. Among the crops grown in their garden are  soy beans, maize, potatoes and sim sim . In order to earn income, whenever middle men come into the village to purchase produce, Scovia’s family is one of those that renders crops for sale.
