How do they get all those colors?

We're asked that a lot by people who admire the baskets the women in the Far Away Friends program in Bubago and Orem have been making.

Here's the answer - locally-sourced dyes are used and the strips of papyrus and other natural fibers are cooked in the dye to set the colors. The result is a wide variety of vibrant shades for baskets and wall-hangings!
