Experiencing Uganda for the first time was an amazing experience.  Being able to experience it as a family was very special.  Seeing Whitney and Shonna interacting with the women and children in Bubago and Orem was so special for me.  We are truly blessed to be able to experience this as a family. Being able to visit the home of our NBS child drove home the impact that we are having in Uganda.

Joy is the word that best describes the people of Orem.   A thunderstorm  didn’t rain on the excitement that they had to welcome us to their school. In the twilight after the storm, their faces were beaming God’s light within them.  No fear on how they will get back to their homes in the dark - just joy.  As we left the school walking back to the bus in the dark we all trusted in God and the people of Orem to lead us safely back.  The children have so much joy in their hearts and it shows….always a smile

As a person that has spent my whole life being involved in agriculture, the ability to experience Ugandan agriculture was an eye opening experience.  While many agronomic practices are different than what we do in the United States, many of the best practices and tips can be applied.   The impact of another ear of corn or a few more pounds of soybeans can make a huge impact on the lives of families in the village.  There is
such pride in the men and women on being the best producer of corn (maize, soybeans, ground nuts, casava, coffee, etc) as it has a direct impact on their families food supply and providing an education for their families. Â Â
