They Waited!

The following are some thoughts, shared by Whitney, who was part of a C2U mission team for the second time:
The first day we planned on going to Orem, I was very excited to see a sponsored village at the very beginning of the five years, especially since i was able to see Bubago grow and develop since my first trip.
However, due to the weather and traffic we were on track to arrive at Orem much later than anticipated. Even though it had begun to get dark and our bus was having trouble getting thru the muddy roads, we kept going, hoping that kids would still be waiting for us in the village. The muddy weather prevented the bus from getting right to the village but it was no problem - we all trudged happily thru the mud and plants to get to the school in Orem.
By this time, I was honestly thinking to myself that most of the kids would have gone home by the time we got there. But I was so wrong! We were immediately greeted by a swarm of kids and women who were chanting, eager to greet us.
By the time we got settled into their classroom. the sun had almost completely set. This particular day made me really realize how much the kids anticipated our arrival but also how much they sacrificed by staying to greet us despite our delay!
